National Breastfeeding Awareness Week

National Breastfeeding Awareness Week will be held from 21st - 27th June 2010.

National Breastfeeding Awareness Week (NBAW) aims to promote breastfeeding and increase support as well as awareness. This campaign encourages women to recognise their right to breastfeed at any time and in any place and also promotes the health benefits that can result from breastfeeding. The week’s activities and events are organised by healthcare professionals and the Department of Health for the public. These activities range from balloon drops to fetes.

Information on planning your own events and upcoming NBAW events can be found on www.breastfeeding.nhs.uk.
