Hull Children's Centres

As new mums, children's centres can provide you with a variety of advice and support, especially in those first few weeks and months.

The 19 children’s centres across Hull are open Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm and have been developed in line with the needs of their local community so no children’s centre is the same. The Hull centres will offer some or all of the below:

  • health advice
  • childcare
  • parenting and family support
  • parenting courses
  • information on how to be more healthy
  • information on how to create a safe environment in your home for your children
  • projects and activities just for dads
  • playgroups, activities and events
  • jobs, training and benefits advice for parents
  • a place to meet other parents
  • opportunities for people to volunteer

The staff and other parents at children's centres are another great place to get support, advice and tips on breastfeeding your new born baby. They can also provide the perfect environment to practice breastfeeding your baby in front of others.
